Community Posts

Key Features

Zero-Barrier Posting

Share your thoughts immediately. No login or sign-up is required to post, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their tech comfort level, has a seat at the table.

Thematic Categories

Organize posts into five clear pillars of community life: Community Services & Well-Being, Economy & Local Business, Environment & Public Spaces, Land Use & Development, Transportation & Mobility

Collective Sentiment
Interact with posts through a "Like/Dislike" system. We use a split-pill visual display to show the ratio of community agreement at a glance.
Dedicated Post Pages

Every post generates its own unique page, making it easy to share specific issues on LinkedIn, Facebook, or X (Twitter) to amplify the conversation.

Flexible Identity

Choose to use your real name or a nickname ("Display Name") to balance transparency with personal privacy.

Priority-Led Responses

Planners can acknowledge community concerns by setting priority levels—Normal, High, or Urgent—showing the public that their voices are being triaged and heard.

Direct Staff Feedback

When a planner comments on a post, it is clearly highlighted, creating a direct line of communication between the "Town Hall" and the neighborhood.

Global Search & Sorting

Quickly find specific topics using a keyword search that scans all titles and content. Sort the dialogue by "Latest" to see new concerns, or "Popularity" to see what the community cares about most.

Instant Visibility

Posts appear on the page the moment they are created, ensuring the "Live" nature of the community dialogue is never delayed by a back-end queue.

Tech Notes

Global Layout & Navigation

  • Search & Filter Bar. Two-Column Container. Splits the search input (left) and filter controls (right).

  • Filter Controls. Horizontal Stack. Groups dropdowns together for scanning on laptop views.

  • Grid Configuration. 3-Item Repeater Row. Optimized for 13"–15" screens to maximize content density without crowding.

  • Entry Navigation. Full-Card Trigger. The entire repeater card acts as a link to the individual post page.

Module 1: Hybrid Filter Integration

This module utilizes a mix of native efficiency and custom flexibility to manage community data.

  • Native Dataset Connection: Standard filters leverage innate Wix UI components and database functions for high-speed, no-code stability.

  • Custom Velo Sorting: Short-form dropdowns are enhanced with custom Velo logic, allowing for more precise community-driven data sorting that exceeds native capabilities.

Module 3: Zero-Barrier Engagement

The engagement engine is designed to prioritize the "Human Pulse" over administrative friction.

  • Frictionless Feedback: The like/dislike system is engineered for instant participation. It requires no user login or sign-up, ensuring that the barrier to entry is removed for all community members, regardless of their technical comfort level.

Why did I build this?

"The idea came from the simplest forms of communication: the community bulletin board and the notes left on a kitchen refrigerator. I wanted to replicate that ease of use—a place where a thought can be shared instantly, seen by neighbors, and responded to by planners. By creating a responsive, digital "notepad," we move away from rigid bureaucratic forms and toward a living dialogue that can adapt to community needs as they arise."
