Proposal for a New Dog Park on Elm Street

Hello neighbors,

I've noticed many of us walk our dogs around the neighborhood, but we lack a dedicated, fenced-in area where they can run and play safely off-leash. The vacant lot at the corner of Elm Street and 3rd Avenue seems like a perfect spot.

A dog park would provide numerous benefits:

  • Promote responsible pet ownership.

  • Create a social hub for pet owners to connect.

  • Improve the well-being of our community's dogs.

I believe this would be a fantastic addition to our community. What are your thoughts?

Let's make it happen!

Hello, thank you for your suggestion. The Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for ways to enhance our community amenities. The idea of a dog park has been discussed previously, and your proposal helps demonstrate continued public interest.

The vacant lot on Elm and 3rd will be evaluated by our team to confirm city ownership, review zoning compliance, and assess the feasibility of installing necessary infrastructure (fencing, water access, waste stations). The proposal will be added to the agenda for the next Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting for their review and recommendation.
