Rezoning Request for High-Density Housing on Westlake Drive

I recently saw a notice about a proposal to rezone the old industrial plot on Westlake Drive for a new high-density apartment complex. While I understand the need for more housing, I have serious concerns about the impact on traffic and local resources.
Westlake Drive is already congested during peak hours. Adding a 200-unit building will overwhelm our local roads and schools. We need a comprehensive traffic impact study and a plan to upgrade infrastructure before any such development is approved.
I urge the planning commission to consider a lower-density development instead.

Thank you for your comment regarding the rezoning application for the Westlake Drive property. Your concerns about traffic and infrastructure are a critical part of the review process. Please be advised that as a standard requirement for any development of this scale, the applicant is required to submit a comprehensive Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), which will be reviewed by our City Engineer.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on this matter, which will be advertised in the local paper and on the city website. We strongly encourage you to attend this hearing to provide your testimony directly to the commissioners before they make their recommendation to the City Council.
